Anna & Daniel, 2022 Forbes 30 under 30 featured in El Pais, Spain

April has been a great month for TFC gallery’s stars Anna & Daniel. Not only did they duplicate their last year’s triumph by appearing on the Forbes most influential young artists list, their image appeared on a cover of a music album, and while working on several commissions this busy Spanish photographic duo found time to sit down with El Pais, Spain’s journalists to chat about their two loves, architecture and photography.

Anna & Daniel are no strangers to El Pais, as this conversation is a follow up on their previous feature in the most influential Spanish newspaper published under the title Curio-ciudades back in 2019.

Keeping busy during the pandemic and reinvigorated by the relative rest, the Spanish photographic duo managed to exhibit last year in Bilbao while working assiduously on their first art book that is to include images so admired by their numerous social media followers.

This creative couple is hard to define in traditional terms - they are both architects, photographers and it is only natural they see their future as “multidisciplinary” artists. Their love for architecture is apparent in their art - particularly that of their native Valencia. The city’s architectural gems as well as random walls and facades are frequently intrinsic parts of their fun images. It is only natural, they are interested and concerned about the city’s urban development and changes.

The two seek out exceptional architecture to capture its beauty and point out its relationship to human true to Vitruvian philosophy. Particularly interesting in that sense is their latest extensive Pink-A-Boo series shot at La Muralla Roja (Red Wall), a postmodern apartment complex in Manzanera, Calpe, Spain designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill in 1968. The complex reinterprets traditional North African casbahs and Arabic Mediterranean architectural styles, incorporating the traditional elements like courtyards, staircases and bridges that connect the apartment and tie them into a cohesive living space.
