Daniel Rueda & Anna Devís, two trained architects living in Valencia, Spain, combined their love for geometry, perspective, and storytelling to become the ultimate creative couple. Traveling the world in search of the quirkiest buildings, the duo use these facades as their canvases.
Daniel Rueda originally studied architecture at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and later received his Master degree in Architecture and Design. While working as an assistant for photographer Mariela Apollonio, Daniel broke out on his own- initially as an architecture photographer.
A photographer and an architect in one, he collaborated with various commercial clients, including top brands such as Facebook, Google, Hewlett-Packard, Olympus, Netflix, or Coca-Cola. To help with creative process Rueda teamed up with Anna Devís. By combining their creativity and artistic vision, primarily based on simple shapes and bold patterns, they have succeeded in establishing magnetic and humorous narratives which smartly suggest both the nature of human relations and the fascination with the urban environment.
Both artists see photography first and foremost as a tool for expressing their theatricality in the context of using architectural elements as props for their spontaneous performances. Their uplifting photos celebrate this practice and the way humans articulate the interplay of bodies, space, shapes, and colors.
